August 4-6, 2017: We enjoyed live performances by Rusted Root, the California Honeydrops, the Pimps of Joytime, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, and more.
We even camped right near the Horseshoes and Hand Grenades guys, who are from Steven’s Point, WI, and Anne got to chat about Wisconsin things with them!
The whole festival definitely had a pro-environment vibe. They served food in compostable containers and made multiple types of recycling available. Contrary to that they had some torches that we assume were lit by propane which did not seem super climate friendly….But there were multiple organizations present, such as the Inlet Keeper, promoting clean water in southern Alaska, and lots of protests against the Pebble Mine, an effort halted by the Obama administration and now opened up again by the Trump administration.

We know that we have friends and family from all over the political spectrum reading this–we think we can all agree that what we all want is a nice, clean place to live where people and nature both prosper, and where our future generations can continue to enjoy the fruits of nature without much damage from the use of it.
